 Pocahontas is an American woman of Native American origin who has lived in Europe since the late 16th century and early 17th century. Her personality has gained worldwide fame. Highlighting her life through some timeless filmmaking, or perhaps because of the events she has experienced in her life. Pocahontas' life was not a simple life. With her palace she was full of situations, and in her life she recounted what the Indian people had experienced during that important period of human life. The following is a review of the most important stages of her life. The story of Pocahontas Pocahontas was the daughter of an indigenous tribal leader, born at the end of the 16th century and named Matwaka. During the European expeditions on the American continent, Captain John Smith, who was captured by her people, came to America and was the reason for his rescue. During a battle that took place between her people and the English, she was also captured by the British. This was in the early seventeenth century, when her captors demanded a ransom from her people, but they did not achieve what they wanted for the English, to keep Pocahontas captive. During her captivity Pocahontas converted to Christianity, learned English, changed her name to Rebecca, and when she chose between her people and the English, she grew up staying with the English. Later she married Pocahontas from an English farmer and went to live in Britain. The British community treated her as a barbaric woman who had survived the events. Pocahontas died early and was buried in Britain. Pocahontas in Cinema Several important films have dealt with the life story of this American girl. Perhaps the most important and important is the animated film by Walt Disney Company, named after her. The first part covered her life in America, her story with Captain John Smith, Her journey to England, but these two films added some new elements to the original story.
